Today was the last day of the holiday break. Tomorrow we go back to work. The visit with Dad had some unexpected aspects… it made it easier to come home this time. I really enjoyed spending some time here at home for a change. Having to travel every time I have time off just gets old after a while. I’m glad for the opportunity to travel, but I like being home too.
I went through some boxes and found some books I had brought back from Herb’s. Some were notebooks where he was working through exercises with books he was reading. I remembered again why I miss him so much.
I also found the silk arrangement that Kathy made that was a recreation of my wedding bouquet. I had no idea where it had ended up after the fire. It doesn’t even look smoky. It was a nice surprise.
